Many companies don’t even realize that they create this data on an ongoing basis, partially through their relationship with their customers, partially through their own internal relationships, and also with the relationships they establish within their industry. Together that information can create new information that will help the business make decisions.
Data is there to tell you things, it’s there to teach you and give you information. Not for you to filter it, and in a sense cut it short instead of allowing it to tell you many things. If the data tells you something you don’t already know then you’re really getting value out of it.
Governance is how you use and you keep and you repose and you search for data. Then data becomes information.
Top Priorities:
1. How do we better serve our customer? To better serve the customer we have to know the customer and how our products interface with those customers. These elements are all important aspects of analyzing our data and finding that information.
2. How do we use BI for the business? How do we make the business smarter and more responsive by analyzing the data we have.
